Hostivice near Prague

Hostivice has approximately six thousand inhabitants. It is located to the west of Prague and it lies just outside the capital. The town as it is now was created when four independent villages, Hostivice, Litovice, Břví and Jeneček, were joined. There are several historic monuments in Hostivice, and one of them is located right next to the Guesthouse in the manor courtyard.

The nature in Hostivice is also beautiful. The area around the local complex of fishponds, which is a protected nature reserve, is an ideal place for walks. There are several marked trails. Many species of songbirds and waterbirds nest here. The ponds are also interesting for their history. During the reign of emperor Rudolph II they were the source of drinking water for the Prague Castle, which lies 15 km away.

These days Hostivice is a popular locality and more and more people from Prague decide to move here for good. It offers quiet life among greenery, while still being close enough to the capital.
